Seattle Foundation’s Civic Commons initiative seeks to promote greater understanding of issues related to equity, access to opportunity and inclusion throughout the region. Stakeholders had identified a set of indicators that significantly impact community outcomes of health, access to opportunity and economic wellbeing. This framework, called a Scorecard for Shared Prosperity tracks the indicators at a county level throughout the region. Civic Commons needed an updated version of the scorecard and an easy-to-manage dashboard tool with a short timeline and slim budget.
CAI developed a low-cost approach to providing embedded dashboards and indicators that fit within the existing framework and web site.
The Scorecard serves as an important resource for advocates for equity and social justice throughout the region. Conversations around sensitive topics can be based on shared understanding and supported by data. Civic Commons staff can easily update the infographics as new data are released.
